Every time you shoot down an enemy ship you gain rank, and higher ranks have access to more powerful ships from different shipyards. The ships featured in this version are all new because at the time I had not re-discovered the original Space Corps graphics (I have since found a CD backup of the original Amiga project directories and have been converting them to the PC ready for Space Corps Classic) and likewise the range of weaponry is greatly different to what original users will be used too. There are still rockets and homing missiles, but that's just the tip of the ice berg! Now you get to blast away with area of effect weapons and mass drivers.
